Why is the smell of e-cigarettes burnt, and how to avoid the burnt smell of e-cigarettes? If your coils are only slightly burnt, you may have a slightly burnt smell as if something wasn’t quite right. This leads to two (equally unwelcome) things happening: The juice left in the wick can be “overcooked”, heated to such an extent that it causes the PG to break down into formaldehyde. If this needs clarification: formaldehyde smells absolutely disgusting. With nothing to protect it from the heat, the wick is directly exposed to the fiery coil. Because it’s probably made of cotton, the wick will burn. If the wick is completely dry, it will burst into flames. Yes, burning cotton smells bad too. These two things are the key ingredients in the “Mèche Br lée” e-juice described in the introduction. Burn cotton with formaldehyde. The disgusting stuff adds something extra disgusting. How to avoid the burnt smell of electronic cigarettes? Well, looking at it from above, it’s clear what we need to make sure is that there is always juice in the wick when we’re evaporating. This means you shouldn’t “dry-burn” your coils, as most threads are made of cotton and will be ruined without juice to protect them. Dry burn is fine for ceramic filament, you can use silica for short periods of time instead of cotton. There is less risk when you have juice in your wick, but you still need to take some steps to protect your coils. When you hit the fire button you run out of juice in the wick and we need to make sure our equipment is set up so the flow of new e-liquid can keep up with the rate we’re evaporating. When this happens, you need to take a break (as shown above), but to reduce the chance of it happening again, just reduce the wattage a little. It’s unreliable, though, and it becomes very difficult when your juice levels are too low, so bottling is the best method. 5- Use an e-liquid with more PG Pigg is better than VG, which means it’s easier to dip into the chick. You will have to sacrifice the coil, already solved, but it will help you avoid problems in the future. 7- Use temperature control Temperature-controlled (TC) evaporation solves the problem of burning needles more directly.
